A life of earworms, plus my weekly shareables: Tom Hanks, Springsteen, and the Denver airport hellscape
Speaking of earworms, I was distressed to find out last week that Starship's "We Built This City" is featured in a TV ad with the lyrics changed to "We Fixed This Toilet." The ad showed up on ABC's NFL draft coverage, so I assume they'll keep playing it until we all beg for mercy.
One college semester I lived beside two girls who woke up every morning to “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” at full blast.
Our hall was a designated “quiet hall.”
I was the RA.
Still don’t hate the song though.
OMG.. I'd never heard of Joy Oladokun. Thank you. Always enjoy your favorite music mentions. Great taste in music.
Loved your column, Tommy. You always speak truth to power.
