As a fan there are all the different feelings, each of which is memorable and special. I will always remember seeing all the Gator Geezers in Arizona before the UF/Nebraska championship game and how it felt to be where we never thought we'd be--deeply moving. Then to be pregnant and alone during the shellacking of the game (resolute and proud to stay but Sooo Sad). And then the joy to be in New Orleans a year later to beat FSU for our first championship. The depth of feeling of each experience helps explain why so many of us are invested sports fans.
Congrats to the Dawgs as they clearly had the best team this year. #SECDOMINATION
My former backyard neighbor in CLT many moons ago had a slumber party at her home in Mount Pleasant, SC last night...both our sons were at the game...all 4 of our children and 2 of my grandchildren went to UGA...but the "nannies" stayed with the game until the final seconds...and unlike my friend who wanted to see a close game, after my 2022 I was thrilled to relax and not have to work so hard for a win! DAWGS!
I did watch through the 3rd quarter...then knew they had it for sure. Being a Florida Sate alumni (an OLD one)...I know the agony/ecstasy bit for sure. I am NEVER comfortable when it comes down to a FG. BTW, I have a GA friend who refers to Bennett as Thurston Howell III--which cracks me up
I'm curious as to whether you who wished, even for half a second, that it was a close game.
Ohio State was plenty close enough.
Man, you nailed it. Thanks, Tommy, for giving expression to a feeling so many of us share today. HBTD.
CONGRATULATIONS from a long-suffering Auburn fan to you and all GA fans!
You couldn’t have said it better for Dawg fans.
Love, love, love. On top of the world again. The view from here is spectacular.
