Despite being a huge fan of Herschel’s incredible skill on the football field, I never once felt during this campaign that he had the capacity, experience or qualifications to be a United States senator. His athletic achievements should not be confused with his ability - or, more accurately, inability - to serve in such a critical public position.
Not only a national championship, but UGA's first undisputed national championship in 38 years and UGA fans wouldn't see another one for 41 more years. Herschel was a true folk hero. (Even though Lindsay Scott had the most famous individual moment. . .)
