I have read all the Robicheaux books except for the last one or two. Clete is one of the all time best characters. The villains in his books are some of the worst. They have made a few movies out of his books. This one was neve seen here A great cast. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_the_Electric_Mist This was the sequel to Heavens Rain Neither movie had Clete in them. How could you make a movie with out him. I think some some good make a great series out of these stories. The Bosch series is great. The Lincoln Lawyer is very good. I believe a third season is being filmed. I thought the two season of Perry Mason were good. I am guessing the two seasons did not draw a lot of viewers. I have never read any of the Mason books. The HB. . O series does start out in the 30's as the first books did. The two HBO seasons as far as I know did not resemble the books. In the HBO series Mason started out as a PI. In the HBO series Della was gay. The Paul Drake investigator was a black police officer who late became Mason's investigator. The two seasons seemed noirish at least to me I would think. I think the books might have been grittier than the tv series.

I live in Salisbury and was really disappointed that I wasn’t able to see the northern lights, when a friend took great photos from her deck in Davidson. So, tonight I’m headed back out to find a darker spot to try again. Like you, this is definitely a bucket list thing and I don’t see me making it to Iceland or Norway (though I’d like to say I’ve seen a fjord, too!). Thanks for the pitch for Amy Lin’s book. I haven’t had a loss like that in a long time, so think I’ll be able to get through it.

Growing up in northern Manitoba, I saw the northern lights often. Now in the city of Winnipeg we seldom see them, but they have been shining brightly for the past 10 days in the cottage country along Lake Winnipeg. The dream of a high school friend who has lived in Florida for decades is to see the Aurora Borealis one more time. Just to give you a dog connection, my friend is the niece of Emile St. Godard, who won the dog racing competition at the 1932 Olympics in Lake Placid. The death of his lead dog Toby was written up in some major US newspapers.
