I love all these stories but especially the UGA references. On that day of the 1980 GA -FL game we buried my grandfather. Of course the funeral was planned around game time. We settled in to watch the game afterwards. A houseful of family. When Buck threw that pass and Lindsay Scott ran down the field we were running all over the house screaming and high giving. In the midst of the celebration we saw the preacher at the door making a bereavement call. Since he wasn’t a football fan we had to sheepishly explain that this wasn’t an attack of grief, but mass hysteria at the Dawgs last minute miracle.

I've heard so many stories about that game, but this might be the best one!

I’m confused, Tommy. Didn’t we run a Wild Turkey Lab at UGA in the 80s?

Unfortunately, we were not smart enough to get federal funding.

Congratulations, T. It’ll be a great book, I know.

Following up on the interview/signing with Joe last week, when the question came up about why the Braves (and by the same reasoning, the Dodgers) crumbled, I was stunned that no one else said it was the layoff. Getting a bye is not always good in many sports.

I can't wait to read this book! Going to the Westminster dog is on my bucket list! I don't know if you remember talking to me at Joe's book signing at Park Road books. but I left a card with you. I am reading Elephant in the Room now and I Love it! You have made me laugh so much and I feel like you are my best friend reading this!

Congrats on first draft manuscript. I feel that Nile Rodgers's is spreading his joy all over your finish line. I would never go to Tiny Desk without your recommendation but that's like reading a baseball book. Nah, except you recomended Joe's. Awesome. TY

Congrats on handing over the manuscript! I cannot wait to read Dogland. While your baby was being born mine was conceived: I finally signed a book contract on Friday! I would love all your tips on scaling this Everest please.

Congrats Tommy! And I think the marathon metaphor tracks for us all. Each of us is running a race — work, family, a personal goal — and each of us wants to feel that finish-line tape snap against our trying, ailing bodies. I’m so excited you’re pushing, both for yourself and, well, because I want to read DOGLAND 😄 Keep going!
