This has been one of the most enjoyable issues of the Writing Shed so far. Wow. Thank you Tommy for bringing things that are important to your readers. Keep up your thoughtful work. And WOW. Just, Wow.
I admire your transparency and enthusiasm in sharing the early reviews of "DOGLAND" from major trade publications like Kirkus Reviews and Publishers Weekly. It's refreshing to see you actively involve the readers in the journey of the book's publication.

Another tear-jerker quality newsletter. You know how to pick 'em. Tracy's smile before the song starts is the real deal. Priceless as they say. Heartwarming happiness for her and Luke. Ditto on the piece from last year. Fast car=an anthem for all time. Great job Tommy
Tracy Chapman's song is selling really well now, so that's all going to be OK (plus, Tracy was the original songwriter, and that's where much of the money happens in the music industry).
So thrilled for the good reviews for you! In my previous work life as a librarian, Kirkus reviews were favorites of mine - they felt honest to me, were often a little quirky (in that good kind of way) and my experience was their good reviews were spot on, so I'm not surprised they like your writing. And your "Fast Car" piece in this newsletter is one of my favorites of all your writing. Thank you.
In case the Twitter link goes down, here's a full-length/high-res video of the Chapman-Combs performance on the Grammys site

I couldn’t find it there! Thanks for tracking it down.
