I remember that trip! The bar was called Spinnaker III. I ordered a Rum and Coke and told the bar maid if I could taste the liquor, I would not drink it. She said, “What you want is a drink called Melons!” and she had a set of melons too. So. George and I ordered one and it came in that bucket you have in the picture and two glasses. It cost ten dollars which was high priced back then let me tell you.
I ended up ordering two more and was bombed by the time we left. I do not remember leaving the bar, I remember getting (falling) out of David’s Camaro at the condo, and climbing upstairs on all fours to go to bed! All this from a nondrinker! We called the bar the next day and asked what was in the drink. It was five white liquors and the rest was Watermelon Schnapps!
Remember the piano man? We were asking for songs like “Beat It”, and he told us to beat this! Then one of us yelled “Great Balls of Fire” and he was awesome! Great trip!!
Thanks for the memory! A great time with great people!
Foyle's War is the best thing I have seen in years, maybe ever, on Television.
We've just seen the first episode. Now I really can't wait for the rest!
We drank "Pink Pull Your Panties Down Punch" Beer, Pink Lemonade and vodka, had that and Parmesan Cheese Popcorn to watch Diana and Charles' wedding
That is one awesomely named punch.
Yes it was, I now drink scotch.
