Jessica Contrera, like you, was kind enough to speak to a couple of my UNC classes. Because it was several years ago, she was only slightly older than the students and she really connected with them. She was/is delightful.
Tommy, I just wanted you to know how much I love seeing The Writing Shed in my inbox every week. There's so much heart in everything you write and share with us -- it's just the best.
I am in Jonesboro tn with my dearest friend Elizabeth Ellis..she's teller in residence at the international storytelling center this week, and also a follower of your work, and a big fan. She's also a featured teller at the big festival the first full weekend in October. It's a big deal and she's been featured 23 times. If you've never been I'd highly recommend it. Check it out online. We've been bff since we were 11.
Speaking of fan letters, i wrote a while back about the one and only fan letter I ever sent--to E.B. White. It did not go well. But I have since vowed to try again.
Thank you for this wonderful article! I completely agree about the importance of making art. Make it for art’s sake, whether it’s in front of 1,000 or 10. It’s noble either way.
I'd like to give you a shout out, simply for using the word, "highfalutin." I would never have known how to spell it, and now.. I do! Also, shout out to your weekly top 10 list - a fellow PM neighbor and I, add, on average, one show a week to our must-watch list based on your top 10. You've yet to lead us astray.

Ah Tommy. Such a beautiful post (what a shock!). Thanks for being open to so much stuff and for sharing it with us Shedheads.
Make art!
Keep making Sheds, Tommy.
